Investigates reports of child abuse and neglect made to and accepted by the
State's Central Registry (“SCR”), more commonly known as the Department of
Children and Family Services (“DCFS”) Hotline.
Determines, along with supervisor, whether a report will be "indicated" or
"unfounded".
Takes protective custody of minor(s), if necessary.
Refers the family for community-based services or court petition, if necessary.
Testifies in court at the Shelter Care Hearing/Temporary Custody Hearing and Adjudication Hearing.

as a caseworker.
